We've made it through the past one month.
And we came back as CHAMPIONS!
What did we do?
We barely had time to blog about what has been done throughout our one month.
But let's make it simple shall we? =)
we aimed not for saving only certain recycling products, but we aim to save the entire environment. How do we do that? The best way by far is by recycling! you see, if you recycle you save many resources at once, for example, recycling just one 100 plus aluminium can.
Did you know that recycling just that one can is able to save up 90% of the energy used to make a new can out of raw aluminium? that is enough electricity to light up a 10w bulb for an hour. Not only that, you save more than half the amount of water used to produce an aluminium can from raw aluminium. you save on air pollution too!
All in all, recycling saves everything, and when I say everything, I'm meaning the environment. =)
Our projects are split into 3 categories that are:
1. a) educating and raising awareness of students in school with talks.
b) giving environmental talks at the neighbouring primary school.
c) giving an environmental awareness talk at the housing area of Bandar Botanic.
2. a) visiting factories to study how recycling works.
b) organising visits for students to recycling factories
c) having program nilam with reading materials about the environment.
3. a) paper pulp products making
b) recycleable material collection
c) launching of Bilik Kitar Semula
d) Paper for Trees project (we sell papers to be recycled and buy trees with the money)
We couldn't get our own pictures. It all got lost out in the world somewhere. Now we know our team actually lacked a photographer.
During the finals, we went there with confidence.
We started shaking when everything started to take a bitter twist.
We fought to maintain our cool and confidence just to finish what we began.
We were disappointed with the incidents.
And finally, we were shocked with the results.
Tears flowing, smiling faces of supporters and team mates, the finals was ours.
We can't say that we deserved to win, neither can we say that we didn't deserve to win.
Bad things and good things happen, and they all happen for a reason.
The earth is going through turmoil and so much destruction,all of these happens for a reason.
The reason is for us to know how priceless but fragile our earth is.
